ECIC
The Great Start Collaborative has been granted an opportunity to change the future of our youngest citizens and their families.
The Michigan Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) initiated Great Start to assure a coordinated system of community resources and services to help all Michigan families with children from birth to age five.
The Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) was created to be the state’s focal point for information and investment in early childhood in Michigan so that children can arrive at the kindergarten door, safe, healthy and eager for learning and life. ECIC was founded in 2005 and charged with implementing a Great Start system for Michigan both at the state level as well as one community at a time. Because of Great Start Collaborative initiatives, Parent Coalition family support, Regional Resource Center child care and resource support---Michigan has been a national leader of early childhood programs and services.
ECIC's mission is to provide all the support needed to guarantee that young children in Michigan have learning opportunities and access to high quality early childhood programs. ECIC's administrators and leaders in the field believe strongly in accountability and results that work! Interactive training and extensive results reporting are staff expectations that have proved successful in planning the many new intiatives that help families in Michigan. Through ECIC's shared commitment and vision for young children's early learning opportunities, Michigan is a great state to raise a family!
